My Story

DR. KIM GORDON

CEO & Founder BHETC, LLC

On the surface, I am a double board-certified psychiatrist, health equity consultant, and mindset coach.

I am a nationally renowned thought leader, a visionary, and a passionate advocate for health equity and social justice.

I am uniquely qualified to empower Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) leaders to redefine success and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I am a lover of music, dance, singing, and reading. I am funny (if only in my mind) and love to laugh. A lot.

TURNING PAGES, CLOSING CHAPTERS

If you turn the page, you'll discover that I am a Women of Faith, Lover of God and grateful recipient of so many blessings. I am compassionate. I am someone who has always wanted to help people in difficult situations. I am a mentor and love to see others achieving their goals.

I am an empathetic listener who really cares about what you have to say. I am absolutely and totally fascinated by the power of renewing the mind and it's path to our well-being, when we codify our emotional messangers!

REWRITING NARRATIVES

As the story unfolds, I will serve as a guide for BIWOC leaders and established career professionals as they learn how to navigate the challenges of life while added barriers and traumas related microaggressions, biases, and limited opportunities for advancement in predominantly white  institutions and toxic work places.

My experiences and life lessons

taught me the true power of resilience, self-discovery, and purpose-driven transformative leadership.

As your health equity and mindset coach, you will learn to embrace growth and change every day through radical self-care and reflection. You will learn to deconstruct the narratives that disembodied you and weakened your power!

 WHY COACHING ...

I, Dr. Kim Gordon, started coaching after decades of being a community child and adolescent psychiatrist because I want to help BIWOC leaders break free from societal barriers, overcome burnout and impostor syndrome, and unleash their full potential.

Frustrated with the increasing health disparities and health inequities facing  women and children of color, I've been on mission to build real change and equity in the lives of my patients.

By empowering them to redefine success and create healthier, more fulfilling lives, I believe I can drive meaningful change and advocate for the mental health needs of underserved communities on a national scale.

With my multifaceted expertise spanning child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, public & community psychiatry, academic residency, fellowship & medical student education, systems of care,  trauma-informed care, social justice, diversity, health equity, inclusion, and mindset coaching, I have a track record for dedicating my career to championing initiatives for underserved women, children, adolescents, and families.

Drawing from the well of resilience inherited from our ancestors and historical knowledge, I completely understand what it takes to thrive as a BIWOC leader in today's world. Still, somehow, something stands in the way of what we know to do and what we actually do.

I started coaching to find answers to why that is and to create solutions to bring what we want and what we do into closer alignment. I have also experienced setbacks, disappointments, and been through some hard times. I've learned and am truly grateful for what those experiences taught me about myself, and you will too.

It is by working through hardships that you will find the strategies and tools that really can work for you. I have cultivated a coaching program that offers the best of those strategies for you.

I would love to get to know you.

If you could relate to anything I said, let me know!
